FL Congressman Will Try To Protect Online Poker

Democratic congressman Robert Wexler (19th District of Florida) is set to introduce legislation aimed at exempting online poker, skilled games and mahjong from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Congressman Wexler is reportedly going to introduce this legislation on Thursday, which is a day before fellow Congressman Barney Frank holds a hearing with the purpose of discussing current internet gambling regulations.

A spokesman for Congressman Wexler has stated that the proposed legislation "allows Americans to play poker online as they should have every right to do."

Robert Wexler is a member of the House Financial Services panel and Barney Frank is Chairmen of the House Financial Services Committee.
